What is Anima?
Anima is a privacy-first companion for guided self-reflection: a structured questionnaire, a voice companion, an audio journal and read-aloud entries, designed to help you explore your inner world without judgment.
Is Anima open source?
Anima is built on open-source solutions.
Which platforms will Anima be available on?
Anima is coming to Android and iOS. Android is the most advanced in development; check the Products page for the current status of each platform.
What languages is the app available in?
Both this website and the app are already translated into French, English, Italian, German, Dutch and Czech.
Is Anima free?
The service is currently free during a 30-day trial, limited to users who've been given access to the test versions — once testing is complete, it will become a paid service. What we can already guarantee: no advertising and no reselling of data, whatever model is chosen (see our Ethical Charter).
Privacy & security
Is my data safe?
Yes. Your journal and questionnaire answers are end-to-end encrypted (NaCl/libsodium) locally, before any transmission — not even the Anima team can access them. More details in our Privacy Policy.
Can Anima read my journal?
No. End-to-end encryption ensures your personal content stays inaccessible, including to us.
What happens if I delete my account?
You can start permanent deletion directly from the app's Settings. Your local data, caches and encryption keys are destroyed immediately; encrypted backups are erased within 30 days. See the corresponding section of our Privacy Policy.
Is Anima a medical service?
No. Anima is a wellbeing tool, not a substitute for medical or therapeutic care. If distress signals are detected, the app may suggest consulting a healthcare professional.
